The Preliminary Eligibility Test is an screening exam held by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, for year 2025, the notification was released on May 02. It is held for the individuals seeking jobs on the Group B and C posts under the different positions of Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The link to apply for the UPSSSC PET 2025 will be released on May 14, 2025, and then the window to apply will be available at http://upsssc.gov.in/ upto June 17. It will be held in a single stage, the date of this exam will be announced soon. It is expected to take place in November or December 2025 across the state at various exam centres.
Candidates with matriculation qualification are eligible to sit the UPSSSC PET 2025; individuals who will pass this test will be awarded with a PET passing certificate, which will remain valid for 3 years from the date of its issuance i.e. those who will have passed this exam will be able to apply/sit in recruitment tests to be against the Group B/C posts by the UPSSSC in the upcoming year.

Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criterias to apply for the UPSSSC PET 2025 are listed below, to check if you are applying to this test or not you need to go through the listed points.
- An individual must have passed the Matriculation (High School or Class 10) exam or equivalent from a school or institution recognized by any State or Central (Regular/Open) Board.
- There is no need of any minimum requirement in the qualifying exam, anyone with just even passing marks can apply for this test.
- One’s age shouldn’t be below 18 years as the cut-off date of age calculation, which is July 01, 2025.
- The upper age limit is 40 years for the General (Unreserved) candidates, individuals belonging to OBC, SC and ST can avail the benefits of age relaxation of 5 years.
- Physically Handicapped candidates have additional upper age relaxation of 10 years i.e. a PH candidate who belongs to UR can apply even if his/her age is 50 years.
How to Apply?
The application process for the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 is available below. To apply, you need to go through the step-by-step instructions.
- Navigate to http://upsssc.gov.in/, the official web-portal of the UPSSSC.
- Lookout for the option of Candidate Registration, and tap on it.
- An option that reads ‘01-Exam/2025 (Apply),’ will be visible, tap on it to access the registration page.
- Fill in the Name, Date Of Birth, Mobile Number, Email Address, and other details to complete the registration and get the login credentials.
- Login using the User ID and Password, and click on the Submit button to access the application form.
- Fill out the application by providing the education qualification and other required details and jump to the next page of attaching the documents.
- Here, you have to upload a photograph, signature and scan copy of all the required documents in PDF, and click on the Next button.
- Now, you need to pay the application fee of ₹160 (UR/OBC) or ₹70 (SC/ST) and processing fee of ₹25 (for all categories) using the debit card, UPI or any other provided payment gateway.
- Lastly, you have to review the UPSSSC PET 2025 application form and verify all the details mentioned on it, and then submit the application form.
There is no application fee for the PH category candidate, but they need to pay a processing fee, the deadline to pay the required fee is June 17, 2025; individuals who have made errors will be able to make changes in their application form by June 24, 2025.
Exam Pattern
The UPSSSC will hold the Preliminary Eligibility Test in offline mode, the test is going to last for 2 hours (individuals belonging to PH category will get a timing of extra 40 minutes). There will be 100 objective-type questions, each with four options, MCQs will be asked from different sections.

As per marking scheme of the UPSSSC PET 2025, 1 mark will be allocated for correct response, and ¼ i.e. 0.25 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer, the untouched questions doesn’t leave any impact on the marking. The medium of exam will be bilingual i.e. language of paper will be English and Hindi.
