The Advt. No. CRPD/CBO/2025-26/03 was released on May 09, 2025, by the State Bank of India for recruitment of Circle Based Officers in the different offices and branches. The application form is all set to be available on the official website of the SBI upto May 29, 2025.

Eligibility Criterias

The eligibility criterias for the recruitment of CBO under the SBI is available below, go through the listed points to check that you are eligible to apply or not.

  • A candidate must have pursued a Bachelor’s degree in any subject or stream from an institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE; or have completed any evaluate qualification such as MBBS, CA, CMA, etc,.

  • One’s age shouldn’t be below 21 years and above 30 years as of April 30, 2025, the age relaxation is applicable for 3 years for OBC-NCL, and 5 years for the SC and ST individuals. There is an additional upper age relaxation of 10 years for PH category candidates.

  • It is mandatory to have two-year experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank as of 30 April 2025.

Note: The individual must be proficient (read, write, speak) in the local language of the chosen Circle; before applying it is highly recommended to check the notification brochure to check the eligibility criterias thoroughly.

Application Fee

In order to apply for the SBI CBO Recruitment 2025, the candidate is required to pay the application fee of ₹750/- using the debit card, credit card, NET banking or any other provided payment gateway. Schedule Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Physically Handicapped category individuals are exempted from the payment of the application fee.

Selection Process

The selection process for the recruitment of Circle Based Officers under the State Bank of India consists of multiple stages, which are Online Test, Interview and Local Language Test (LLT), for the candidates who haven’t studied the regional language at the Matriculation or Intermediate level.

The Online Test is expected to be held in July 2025, it consists of two components: Objective and Descriptive. Check the details about the exam pattern in terms of duration, total questions, maximum marks, question type, marking scheme, section and medium from the below:

  • Duration: 2 hours for Objective Test + 30 minutes for Descriptive Test

  • Total Questions: 120 (Objective) + 2 (Descriptive)

  • Maximum Marks: 170 (120 for Objective, 50 for Descriptive)

  • Question Type:

    1. Objective Test: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

    2. Descriptive Test: Essay and Letter Writing (typed on computer)

  • Marking Scheme:

    1. No negative marking

    2. No sectional cut-offs

  • Sections (Objective Test):

    1. English Language – 30 questions – 30 marks – 30 minutes

    2. Banking Knowledge – 40 questions – 40 marks – 40 minutes

    3. General Awareness/Economy – 30 questions – 30 marks – 30 minutes

    4. Computer Aptitude – 20 questions – 20 marks – 20 minutes

  • Medium: English and Hindi (Descriptive Test in English only)

Candidates who will pass the Online Test will be called for the Interview, which will be held face-to-face; and then the LLT will take place, if required. The final selection list for the appointment will be prepared based on the performance in the Online Test and Interview with a weightage of 75:25.

Pay Scale

Individuals who will be appointed as CBO under SBI will get the monthly basic of ₹48,480/- with 7 annual increments of ₹2,000, followed by two annual increments of ₹2,340 and then there 7 annual increments of ₹2,680. Additional benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, etc, will be also provided.
